Here are the general checklists of what we assess and/ or handle during your home inspection:

EXTERIOR OF HOME

  • Remove junk mail/flyers from the mailbox and front door
  • Inspect the yard and planting beds for trash and weeds
  • Monitor landscaping
  • Perform visual inspection of the sides of the property, roof, and gutters for obvious issues
  • Check for drainage issues
  • Check the doors and windows for signs of a break-in
  • Inspect for vandalism
  • Inspect for evident
  • insect infestation or pest presence
  • Check the exterior lighting
  • Check the pool/spa for obvious issues 

INTERIOR OF HOME

  • Ensure the security system is functioning
  • Check the fire/ smoke/ CO2 alarms
  • Check the temperature/humidity settings on thermostats
  • Check for vandalism
  • Inspect for obvious pest presence or insect infestation
  • Check for water leaks
  • Run water in sinks and baths – check under sinks*
  • Flush stagnant water in toilets*
  • Run the garbage disposal*
  • Check the appliances (cycle dishwasher and washing machine monthly)*
  • Check the doors and windows
  • Check the lights and fans
  • Check the breaker box
  • Check the water heater/water system*
  • Inspect the air filter(s)
